This incredibly rare Tax & MOT exempt 1967 BMW R50/2 Boxer with perfect matching numbers has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life.

This and the fact it's only showing 26033 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.

While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.

Not that this bike needs or deserves restoring LOOK AT IT they are only ever original 1/once!!!.

As you can see this bike is remarkably original but for the period fairing & virtually complete missing just the battery.

It even has the pneumatic Tyre pump stowed under the seat.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.

This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures.

The wheels look straight with nice clean chrome, good hubs & brake plates.

Mudguards are both solid.

Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers.

Instruments & switches look good.

Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.

Paintwork is solid, fuel tank is coated and clean inside.

Exhausts are solid & presentable.

Seat is in very good condition throughout.

The engine is cosmetically clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression.

We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.

Larger bikes or destinations in Scotland, Cornwall or within the M25 area will cost more.
